Southern Baptist University, Theological Seminary or SBU Theological Seminary for short is an Asian Internet and correspondence based theological seminary. It is a teaching ministry of Asian Baptist religious educators and ministers with Student World Assembly (A student organization promoting Global Democracy, Human Rights and Student Leadership) headquartered in New York. The seminary consists of two departments: 1)SBU School of Theology, Ministry and Religious Freedom 2)SBU School of Biblical Rehabilitation and Reentry into Society (R&R) SBU Theological Seminary's objectives are: 1) to centralize 2) to minister 3) to accredit Unlike many seminaries and bible colleges today, SBU Theological Seminary's main goal is not to seek for large numbers of students or seminarians in order to create seminary graduates with diplomas and degrees. Awarding diplomas and degrees is not at all the main objective of the seminary of which in fact it only does in cooperation with the Local Church. SBU Theological Seminary's primary objective is to centralize seminarians and scholars for the purpose of ministerial, biblical and theological study and research as well as for spiritual, mental and emotional development. SBU Theological Seminary's second objective is to minister to those who are spiritually, mentally and emotionally in need by providing moral support and religious education as well as to create an awareness on various issues for the purposes of the extension of Justice and the Kingdom of God. Thirdly, the seminary's objective is to accredit the work of seminarians and scholars who deserve such accreditation by awarding them with the relevant credentials; doing justice to these individuals who have proven themselves to be fully dedicated to their work and calling.
